Duration: Mid-May through late July Location: Bethel, AK Salary: $17-$22/hr DOE
Qualifications include: Must be 16+ years of age; A valid Driver’s license; skilled verbal and written communication; Willing to work long, irregular hours & on weekends; Ability to operate outboard motor and skiff is highly preferred; Excelled Yup’ik language speaker.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct subsistence harvest surveys; Participate the fish distribution program; Recruit & train fishers on Chinook salmon age-sex-length sampling; Chinook salmon otolith removal; Attend fisheries management meetings; Obtain cross-training opportunities in other fisheries research projects.
