Applications for the\u00a0Gather<\/em>\u00a0Food Sovereignty Grant<\/a>\u00a0are open until January 14th at 3pm AK time.\u00a0<\/strong>This opportunity is targeting emerging projects that focus on developing Tribal Food Sovereignty.\u00a0 Through the first round of the grant, First Nations expects to award up to\u00a013 grant awards of approximately $32,000\u00a0to support Native American-led food sovereignty work.<\/p>\n The BIA has released Requests for Proposals for the Fisheries, Wildlife & Recreation Programs. Projects will be funded in four program areas: endangered species, invasive species, hatchery maintenance, and Tribal youth initiatives.\u00a0Applications must be received by the Alaska regional office by January 31, 2021<\/strong>. Forms for all four program areas are available on the\u00a0Native American Fish and Wildlife Society website<\/a>\u00a0who are also offering technical assistance for applicants.<\/p>\n Training and technical support through FEMA is available for Tribal governments interested in applying for\u00a0Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>(BRIC) and\u00a0Hazard Mitigation Assistance<\/em>\u00a0grants. The grant application period is currently open and\u00a0closes on January 29, 2021 at 11am AK time.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Access the BRIC and Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant funding call and webinars here<\/a>.<\/p>\n The application deadline for the\u00a0Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs funding for energy technology on Tribal lands<\/a>\u00a0is February 11th at 1pm AK time.\u00a0<\/strong>The US Department of Energy expects to make between $10 and $15 million available for new awards under this funding opportunity.\u00a0A recording of a webinar providing guidance is available\u00a0<\/strong>on the Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs website.<\/a><\/p>\n Applications are open for\u00a0UAF Research Experience for Undergraduates<\/a>\u00a0until February 15th<\/strong>. Two tracks are available including\u00a0one open to undergraduates with Alaska Native heritage\u00a0<\/a>with an interest in oceanography in the Gulf of Alaska.
