The process for attaining moose for deceased tribal members is detailed below:
Moose hunting out of season can occur for death for any 1 of the following situations:
30 day feast
Funeral
1 year feast
What is required:
Letter from the Tribal Chief or Natural Resource Director. The letter must include the following:
- Name of deceased person
- Where they want to hunt
- Reason for hunt (Ex. funeral, 30 day feast, 1 year feast)
- Members of the hunting party
ADFG will write their own authorization letter and whoever goes hunting must have a hunting license & the official ADFG authorization letter.
